New module routes each step of a client job to the right person, includes clients in the process, and uses AI to record how every task actually ran. Available now to all customers at no extra charge.
SYDNEY, 3rd August 2026 — Workiro, the document management and workflow platform for accounting firms, today launched Workflows, a module that automates the hand-offs in multi-step client jobs such as BAS, year-end accounts and management accounts. It is available now to every Workiro customer at no additional charge.
For Australian practices, the quarterly BAS cycle means recurring, deadline-bound work that passes repeatedly between preparers, reviewers, partners and clients.
Workflows lets a firm build that process once, defining the steps, who does each one and what happens after each outcome. Each step then routes automatically to the right person with the documents attached, and loops back when a reviewer requests changes. Steps can be assigned to roles, such as Approving Partner or Client Contact, and filled when the work goes live. And all the while – the evidence trail builds itself.
Three capabilities distinguish the module:
“With BAS every quarter, a job that sits in the wrong inbox for a week isn’t just late. It’s the client wondering whether you’ve got a grip,” said Dave Burke, Head of ANZ at Workiro. “Workflows means the next step is already with the right person before anyone has to ask.”
“When a task closes, most tools record a label: done,” said Dave Owen, President of Workiro. “Workflows tells you how it actually went, how many passes it took, where it stuck. That record is how a firm gets better.”
Customers using the platform for client work report material time savings. Serenity Accounting & Bookkeeping reclaimed more than 400 hours a year and roughly halved time spent chasing signatures, and Ketton Wealth cut approval turnaround from about seven days to about an hour.
Admins and team owners can build workflow recipes; anyone on the team can start a workflow and complete steps assigned to them.
