Rob has been leading complex projects for over a decade through multiple senior positions in B2B software development - and he was looking at much more complicated things before that as he completed his PhD in Neuroscience. Having spent years working on advanced research projects, with seven published papers and a patent to show for it, he switched his formidable organisational skills to the private sector, where he’s steered multiple complex projects to completion at a series of high-tech businesses.

In his product role at Workiro, Rob oversees the delivery of large-scale product development projects, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing technical priorities to shape our product roadmap. His position requires consistent engagement with teams, projects and priorities from across the organisation, managing both internal and external stakeholders. He’s a big believer in the value of data-based decision-making, agile processes, and transparent communication that means everybody can see what’s happening and when it’ll arrive.

His previous role oversaw our Virtual Cabinet document management platform, which gave him particular insight into both the product and the problems it’s designed to solve. His project-management triumph was handling the evolution of a legacy document management platform into a modern, scalable solution serving thousands of users globally - but he also honed his structured approach to planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication to deliver many other product releases, while supporting a smooth transition to agile development practices.

Prior to that, Rob held senior product-ownership roles at social startups Joinin (formerly Eventility) and WeGoDo, where the focus was less on legacy products and more on building from scratch, juggling the input of users, founders and internal stakeholders. It gave him a deep understanding of how project-management requirements can shift between different teams and functions, from dev teams to marketeers to account managers - and of the approaches that work across all of them.

While he has no plans to return to academia - yet - he’s picked up more recent certifications in workflow automation and AI, most recently AI product leadership certification from Maven, and continues to seek out new training and experience on the cutting edge of productivity.
