After over 20 years in software development, at companies behind the biggest sites on the web and the hardware that powers it, Geth has built a reputation for bridging next-gen technologies and business strategy, enabling organisations to embrace new platforms to deliver business growth. Leadership roles at both fast-paced startups and high-tech multinationals has given him a deep understanding of how to design scalable systems, lead high-impact teams, and deliver digital solutions that meet real-world business challenges.
His experience over the years includes digital transformation at EMI Music, in an industry that faced remarkable challenges in adapting to the digital age, followed by working on a ground-breaking platform-deployment initiative at the Magic Circle law firm Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) which delivered substantial workflow improvements across the business.
He went on to work on a similarly unifying platform for McDonald’s Europe, leading a transformation process that rolled out self-ordering systems across the continent, before moving to Amazon as Software Development Manager. He led a team building AI models that served the Alexa voice-control platform, rolling out machine-learning updates that delivered an eightfold improvement in results for users. His experience at one of the world’s most process-driven and customer-centric companies gave him a deep understanding of execution at scale, operational excellence, and continuous improvement which he’s applied to all future roles.
He returned to the insurance field as Chief Technology Officer at tech startup Digital Fineprint. Here he led the product engineering and data science teams building predictive models using open data AI, offering extended insights for risk analysis and underwriting - enabling client solutions like granular risk modelling for a cohort of 5,000 businesses, rather than an imprecise catch-all judgement.
From there Geth moved to chip developer Arm as Head of Engineering and later Senior Director of Engineering, deepening his knowledge of embedded systems and silicon-based technologies and leading a team that replaced legacy enterprise platforms with modern modular systems. His achievements included redeveloping the tools and workflows used by the world’s largest technology firms, and substantially improving customer satisfaction.
He then did a stint as Head of Engineering and Operations at educational technology company RM before joining Workiro as VP of Product & Engineering. His current day job is leading a development process that’s embedding AI capabilities such as semantic search, sentiment analysis, and summarisation into the daily workflow of finance and accounting professionals, while ensuring zero-downtime migration for our thousands of enterprise customers.
Geth’s work is guided by the belief that great technology solves real problems, and great teams are built on autonomy, purpose, and mutual respect. He is a strong advocate for agile methodologies and lean product practices, and building teams with a culture of open communication and transparent metrics. He’s also been building AI solutions since all this was autocomplete, so he’s got unrivalled insight into solutions that go beyond buzzwords to deliver meaningful improvements to how companies operate.
Beyond his technical acumen, Geth is recognised for his mentorship and team development. He’s coached product managers and engineers through major career transitions, and regularly offers guidance to early-stage founders and technology leaders.
